Fleur Launspach is an independent video journalist and filmmaker based out of London and Amsterdam.
Her most recent reports have been as a correspondent from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Scandinavia on politics, Brexit and climate change.
Fleur has also worked in the remotest corners of the world, filming exclusive reports on rebels in the Central African Republic, the ebola crisis in Sierra Leone, and cocaine farmers in Colombia.
Her video reports and live updates have been broadcast on Al Jazeera English, various VICE verticals and the Dutch national broadcaster NOS-Nieuwsuur. Her written work has appeared on Al Jazeera (Online), Foreign Policy, VICE, De Correspondent, NRC, Trouw, Vrij Nederland, Oneworld and Follow the Money.
Fleur’s experience as a full-time staff member at the Headquarters of Al Jazeera English in Qatar has made her well equipt to handle breaking news situations and work well under pressure. Living in the Gulf for two years has also brought her knowledge and insight into the current affairs and politics of the Middle East.
Fleur has an MA from the University of Amsterdam in Journalism and an MA in Media and Culture.
